it is now a little past 2am and i am still awake.
it wasn't like i drank a crap load of coffee way too late (5ish i think) on accident because i was planning on finishing my first draft tonight (or last night??). but after hours of sitting here and trying to figure out how to attack this pointless final paper prompt, i'm still down to a crappy foreword and introduction. in other words, my draft is still worthless. i'll try again when the sun is up and hopefully finish it by at least 1pm so i could go to class at 2. but hell, at least i don't have work tomorrow. yay!
wednesday was rather mehh. i worked from 7am to 4pm, 5 hours of which were spent aimlessly filing papers and looking at as-built plans of the city jail. the plans actually show where the exits are, how long the hallways are, where everything is...down to the main sheriff's office. the details of the cell bars are also drawn, telling you what materials were used to build the entire jail. of course, if you know what material the bars are made of, you'll know what kind of saw to use to cut them. then i saved a copy of the jail plans. they're tif files so they're easy to save and no one will ever know because i saved them in my OWN drive. everyone at city hall has his/her own local drive to store stuff in. i kept thinking the plans would come handy sometime in the future. but i really doubt that now. then after lunch i got a crap load of work. i think i could have finished it but i worked too slow to save some work for next monday. i think i have about half an hour of work left.
then i went to class, 5-6pm. it ended too early. it wasn't supposed to end until 6:20 but i guess the prof got lazy. or i think he was expecting us to have some questions about the project. but then, how do you know what to ask if you haven't even read the project problem? so he let us go early. then i stuck around to talk to some people then walked back to the parking structure and saw some more people to talk to along the way. it was a good way to socialize a little bit and to kill time since i knew traffic would still be bad if i left before 6:30. i think i got into my car around 6:40 and the 405 was still being a bitch. a little weird and annoying, but i lived.
then i got home and there was letter waiting for me from LADWP. it's a notice to report for a job interview in owens valley. right in the f---- boonies, man. but i don't really know what's up with LADWP. their hiring process is too slow and too confusing. tomorrow i will call them.
then i taught my 7-year-old sister how to play the Quarters Game. i figured it'd be a cool idea if i could train her to be a Quarters master before college so she'd be an expert in at least one drinking game and not lose all the time like i do. lol. i know it's a dumb goal, but i think it's pretty cool. the only game i'm halfway decent at is buffalo, but that isn't saying much.
anyway, that's pretty much how wednesday went. my draft is still nowhere near done. but i don't think i'm in trouble yet. i'll probably just go to school early tomorrow. but i dunno. that could still change.
graduation is starting to really scare me.
i also got paid at midnight. good stuff.
