and so earlier tonight i was driving home minding my own business when this beat up truck came out of nowhere. maybe i was just driving too fast and he was driving too slow so it looked like he came out of nowhere but he was just there the whole time and i got too close too fast.

but anyway, the interesting thing about this truck is this: the back has about 200 stickers about god and jesus. you know, like those christian jobs that say something like, god is love or don't fear, god is with you type of thing. it's not an overstatement to say that every square inch of the back is covered with all these jesus messages.

and like i said, they guy was driving too slow, maybe about 35 or 40, so i switched lanes to the right to avoid him. then two seconds later, "one of us" started playing on star. just in case you don't know, "one of us" is this song that goes something like "what if god was one of us, just a slob on the bus, trying to make his way home, nobody calls him on the phone, except the pope maybe in rome." that's not the exact words, but it goes something like that.

when the song stopped playing, i sort of looked on my left side mirror to see if the truck was still there, but it wasn't there anymore. it totally creeped me out because for a second, i thought i miraculuously disappeared like the way i thought it came out of nowhere. then reason kicked in and i thought i was driving too fast so i had already gone about 200 feet before he even went past the light.

it's weird that i saw all those jesus bumper stickers and heard a god-related song at the same time. i take it as a coincidence, but i'm still a little creeped out. i suddenly felt like i should take my religion more seriously.
