i looooove three-day weekends!!!
so last night i got 9 hours of sleep and stayed in bed for an extra hour and a half. i know that's like below average for most people, but that's about twice of what i normally get. so shut it!
it was a good weekend.
friday: i skateboarded with the alcoholic chick at cdm. it was nice day to be out. only there was a cop at the lot, and i got so paranoid that i just wanted to go home. i don't know why, but i've developed this anxiety every time i see a cop car. but anyway, the alcoholic chick convinced me it was cool, so we just skated there for about an hour. then we sat around at the beach and took emo pictures. skated some more and called it a day. i don't really remember what we talked about, i think mostly about asce and people in general, but it was a good talk anyway. i appreciate good times like that so much, especially after a busy week, and all we want is to chill and not forget there's more to life than wood structures.
saturday: steel bridge nationals at csun, and i was there. i didn't know i was supposed to carpool with them, so i drove myself. it turned out okay because they decided to go home saturday night, and i stayed to hang out with our steel bridge team. i had a couple of drinks, and we all chilled with virginia tech and wisconsin. it was fun and different. i had never been in the same room with that many white people. it was almost weird. but like i said, i had fun.
sunday: i decided to get some homework done. i tried to do most of wastewater. i spent about 2 or 3 hours on this one problem. i'm not one of the smartest kids, so when i can't figure out a problem after 2 hours, i just assume i didn't understand it so i quit and disregard what i thought was wrong with the problem itself. so then today i got an email from the super hott TA, and he said that problem 14.7 (the one i spent so many hours on) was not due. then it all made sense. it was cancelled because there was no way we could do it. you need a stats graph to answer the problem, which is not provided in the book or anywhere else. i think you have to generate it yourself. so i was right the whole time and shouldn't have spent all that time. man, it makes sense now. due to that, i was only able to finish 2 problems. and now i have 1 more problem to do, and i'm hoping i don't get lazy tonight because wastewater homework is due tomorrow and i have work all day.
monday: okay, i'll write about today now even though it's nowhere near the end. so after that long sleep, i felt very productive. i did wood homework, yay! i mean, most of it. only 3 problems were assigned but i finished 2 and 3/5 of the 3rd. it took me about 5 or 6 hours to do it all, but now i'm so ahead it's crazy. i'm so on top of things right, and it feel so good. i think i'll reward myself with a beer or two tonight.
