i'm going to write about thursday. i was planning to write about something else (i keep thinking it's more important, but i can't remember it right now), but thursday was very nice so it'll do for now.

thursday now reminds me of why life is good, why it's not always pain and sht, and that for every bad thing that happens, a good thing happens to balance it out.

i didn't want to go to work because the project that i was working on was being a real pain and it was getting more and more frustrating every hour i had to spend CAD-ing. i don't think it's my fault why i'm CAD illiterate, so by thursday morning at 8, i had already spent about 15 hours drawing a map and designing a dumb parking lot. i was going blind and sore from sitting in front of the computer.

halfway through thursday, i finally finished my drawing. yay! man, it felt so good when my supervisor finally said i was done, and he asked me to print out 2 copies of the site plan so he could send it in. i think it was the first i actually let out a smile at work that week. after ~20 hours of CAD, i finished my first ever design project. i'm probably hyping this up too much, but it was exciting to see my initials on the title block of the site plan. DESIGN BY: CA; DRAWN BY: CA.

then later that day, the PW director called me and my coworker to his office and told us he successfully convinced the city council to give all interns a raise. so now i'm making $2/hour more. yay!

i was having the time of my work life until a little after 5 when i got in to my car. and there it was! the SECOND parking ticket of my life! apparently my parking permit expired two days before, and i was too busy CAD-ing that i totally forgot to get a new parking permit. those parking bastards! i park my car at the same slot every time. you'd think it was obvious that i work there, but i still got a ticket for a permit that expired 2 days before (wednesday was a holiday). so now i have to go see the SB police and contest my ticket.

so that was one bad thing. i think there's another bad thing, but i can't remember right now, so i'll write about it some other time.

anyways, then i went home and ate, then drove down to irvine to see transformers with friends. i loooove transformers!! that's all i have to say about it. we all went to denny's after the movie. fun times. i got home at around 12:30, slept at 1:40ish, woke up ~5 hours later, went to work from 8 to 5. more fun times but that's another blog entry.
