it's not a secret that i hate washing my car. i wash it maybe once or twice a year, if that many, and i just wait for a good rain. but since i started working, i figured maybe i should start being responsible and keep it clean so as not to embarrass myself in a parking lot full of shiny $40,000 cars. so finally last sunday i took my lovely car to this drive-through carwash place (you just drive through this thing and your car comes out clean in less than 5 minutes), paid five bucks for it and went home feeling good about myself for doing the right thing. monday morning came and what do you know---it rained! and it wasn't even a good one! it was one of those really light and really quick rains that only brings as much dust and dirt to your windshield as possible.in the end, less than twenty-four hours later after my very proud carwash, my car was back to its original state: unclean and a disgrace to my office's parking lot.
thursday night came and i had barely enough gas to go home, so i decided to fight off my tiredness and fill up my car before i went home. but man, the universe hates me. less than twelve hours later (friday morning) i drove by the same gas station where i filled up the night before and what do you know---gas was down 10 cents per gallon! i could've saved ~$1.20 this week had i waited until morning to fill up. you'll probably say it's only ~$1.20, but these things add up pretty fast. that's about $5 a month (another carwash mind you!!).
friday came, and i ask myself why me???? i just dropped off joTANA at her house (we went to see the parson red heads in LA with some friends. yay for good times!!), and i was on my way home finally after working all day and driving a good hundred miles (anaheim to irvine to santa ana to cerritos to LA to cerritos to anaheim). then what do you know---the intersection at walker and lincoln was entirely closed and i had to turn around and take crescent instead. this is probably a little hard to understand if you have no idea where i live, but it was a hassle anyway. i like taking the route home with the least amount of turns, and i thought it sucked that i had to backtrack a full block and take the route with too many turns.
then i just finished parking my car (the curb where i park is curved so it's not as easy as if it were a simple straight curb) and checked my voicemail. it was Big Sister and she said Chili Cheese Fries was at the hospital and waiting on some test to decide if she got appendicitis or not and figure out what to do. so i drove there and waited for about an hour. the Parental Units said Big Sister and i should go home because it was already past 1 in the morning.
i'm home now, but we're all still waiting on the result of that test. hopefully it's nothing bad, and we can all go back to normal tomorrow.
